One of the earliest gemstones in the history of gemstones occurs from the magical group that "jade" belongs to in the crystal. Crystal was first discovered more than 7,000 years ago. The alluring nephrite jade has a plethora of healing properties and is considered an extremely potent stone. In contrast to other crystals, jade and jadeite are unique. Early in 1863, one of the team's geologists made the surprising discovery that the jade crystals are actually two unique and distinct minerals known as nephrite and jadeite.
